Joseph O. Bull, JD

Joe has 31 years of experience in the philanthropic arena, previously serving The Ohio State University, Duke University, North Carolina State University, The Nature Conservancy and the Columbus Zoo. Joe was the 2015 chair of the board of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning and currently serves on the board of directors of the American Council on Gift Annuities.

Shannon N. Christof, JD

A Pittsburgh native, Shannon joined the Office of Gift Planning in 2014 after eight years as a practicing attorney specializing in elder law, retirement benefits, special needs advising and estate planning. She brings her experience with creative estate plans and client relationships to her work at CMU, advising donors on complex tax and giving strategies.

Theresa M. Schroeder, JD

Theresa joined the Office of Gift Planning in 2014. She manages the administration of estates and works with donors and advisors to consider the legal and tax implications of various gift strategies. Prior to joining CMU’s gift planning team, Theresa practiced law in Pittsburgh for over a decade, specializing in complex estate planning.

Mitchell Koster

Mick joined the Office of Gift Planning in 2016 and works with university donors and alumni to help accomplish their philanthropic goals. Prior to moving to Pittsburgh to join the University Advancement team, Mick led a consulting firm which served generous families and philanthropists in the establishment and operation of permanently structured endowed gifts. Previously, he worked as a charitable trust officer for a major financial firm, advising individuals in their charitable estate and gift design process. Mick holds a B.A. in political science from Calvin College and a Masters of Public Administration with a concentration in nonprofit management from Michigan State University.
