Mick joined the Office of Gift Planning in 2016 and works with university donors and alumni to help accomplish their philanthropic goals. Prior to moving to Pittsburgh to join the University Advancement team, Mick led a consulting firm which served generous families and philanthropists in the establishment and operation of permanently structured endowed gifts. Previously, he worked as a charitable trust officer for a major financial firm, advising individuals in their charitable estate and gift design process. Mick holds a B.A. in political science from Calvin College and a Masters of Public Administration with a concentration in nonprofit management from Michigan State University.

Theresa joined the Gift Planning team in 2014.  She manages the administration of estates and trusts for the University and also, oversees the management of the University’s planned gifts.  Prior to her time at Carnegie Mellon, Theresa practiced law in Pittsburgh for over a decade, specializing in complex estate planning.  Theresa received her law degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her undergraduate degree from Bucknell University.  She is an active member of the Pittsburgh community, having served on several boards, including the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Council.

Relocating to Pittsburgh from Washington, DC, in 2018, Richard Peyser enjoys helping CMU alumni and friends impact the lives of students through creative planning techniques.  He previously worked at the George Washington University in a similar capacity, where he also earned a Master’s degree.  Richard completed his undergraduate work at the University of New Hampshire, and was elected student body president.

Natalie Taylor comes to Carnegie Mellon University with over 15 years of non-profit experience. Previously, she held positions as a Gift Planning Officer at Duquesne University; the Director of Development at the Senator John Heinz History Center; Development Officer for Planned Giving and Major Gifts at The Metropolitan Museum of Art; and Assistant Director of Giving Services at the Episcopal Church Foundation. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of South Carolina and is a member of the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Council.

Carole has been at Carnegie Mellon since 1986 – first as a student graduating with a BS in Public Policy and Management in 1990 and then with an MS in Public Management and Policy in 1991. She has worked in a variety of positions within University Advancement since 1993, developing relationships with thousands of alumni, parents, friends, students, faculty, and staff. Carole joined the Office of Gift Planning in 2020 to develop special communications and programs for university donors who have graciously remembered CMU with a gift through their will or similar estate arrangement.
